Memorial day campsite

Due to Deanna's job, we decided to give up on trying to travel somewhere for the weekend. Since we love to camp we decided it would be much simpler just to set up the tent in the back yard. Of course right after we took the picture the rain started. Although it wouldn't be camping without rain would it? We cooked up supper on our new fire pit that Dea's parents gave us and then sat under the flap of the tent enjoying the double rainbow that God put in the sky just for us.
Things got interesting during the night when the dogs down the road started a barking match with a coyote. Both Will and I lay there awake feeling kind of creepy listening to that coyote. It sounded kind of like a crazy hyena laughing.
Now we are up and about today. Going to try and go to the Memorial Day service out at the cemetery. Work more on my parents auction, get Jacob ready for his three day field trip next week and then have a picnic with brats and burgers.
Hope you all have/had a wonderful Memorial Day. Thank you God for the blessings of living in a nation where we enjoy so much in abundance, even on our worst days.

Dea is kinda proud of how she can "grow em", both the rhubarb and the kids!

First things first. The picture that I sent in yesterday and that is also with our profile does not accurately reflect who we are (Translation: Wow! what a terrible picture!). But it is the only digital picture I have of our family together. Dea or I usually take the picture which means one of us isn't in it. Second, if anything gets said in this blog site that offends or upsets anyone, please assume that isn't what we meant. At least until we're given the chance to explain. Ok? (Then I suppose you could be offended if you really want to be....)The whole idea of doing this is to hopefully make people we love and care for feel good and we certainly wouldn't want to do that at anyone’s expense. So if you could just give us the benefit of the doubt ok? I promise to work hard not to offend anyone. Of course, I don't make any guarantees either. If I could make people want to give me money the way I can't make people want to hurt me I would be a really wealthy man!
We spent the whole of yesterday out at Dea's parent's( Dave and Dottie) farm. They're having an auction on June 6th and we're helping them get ready for it. We got most of the top half of the barn emptied. With the holes in the weak floor and the pigeons with their amazing capacity to poop it made for an interesting day. Lloyd and Gayle Sutherland (Dea's Uncle and Aunt) came out to help. Uncle Lloyd has been amazing. If it's got a motor on it then he's tinkering. From the big Farmall H Tractor to a little beat up tiller that we just never got around to throwing out. He's been making them run. We drug an old Toro rider out that was buried in the horse stall under the barn and wouldn't you know it he got that running too. Shoot, there’s even one tire on it that will hold air for a few minutes...... We found this old antique Jacobson push mower up in the barn. It’s got a riveted plate on it that says made by the Worthington mower company I think from somewhere in "Penna” Which is how they abbreviated Pennsylvania. I'll have to look at it again and see. I wonder if Uncle Lloyd'll be able to get that one running too. Aunt Gayle came and went. Which is a whole lot better than it sounds. Every where you turn she would be there sorting or carrying or cleaning. Then, you would turn around again and she'd be gone; off to put something in its place like a little bundle of energy. If you were to bundle up the phrase "Git 'R' Done!" into a neat little package you would have Aunt Gayle. The barn was/is full of all kinds of "stuff” Dave has collected over the years. Most of it construction materials i.e.: Lumber, Windows and doors. We hooked a trailer to the Farmall and hauled it off a load at a time. That farmall runs sweet but needs -no- deserves attention. I mean, it runs and works so good it really should be restored to "better than new” condition. I hope the new owner (it's going in the auction too) will do just that.
Dave’s parents had this old pop up camper that Dave was storing in the barn. I don't know what’s going to happen to that. The bottom of it looks like any other pop up camper but the top had these "hoops" that held up the canvas. In short, it looked just like a covered wagon. The hoops and frame are still there but everything else......well you know.....
We're supposed to be going back out there again this morning if I can get the kids motivated. Dea has to work today delivering mail so it’s just me with the kids. Poor kids.

In The beginning; a Blog Odyessy

Well here it is the first Blog from the Will Donaldson Family.
Perhaps though we should call this the "real" family. This is who we are for those of you who might not know:
Will (me. a Real Husband and Father; which means I'm pretty lousy at both those titles but the fierce aching love in my heart for my family won't let me quit trying),
Deanna (my wife, best friend, and holder of many other titles such as counselor, comfortor, etc., but its enough that you know that I Know what a wonderful thing it is to have a REAL "Wife" and she is most definately "it"),
Jacob ( my First Born. My son, I keep trying to tell him "I am his Father and not one of his friends!" yet I am so glad that in this one area he doesn't listen to me. He is such a real pal. A real "boy" into all those boy things I was and still am: cars, airplanes, video games etc. He's the son sent to me as a curse from my mother who said "I hope you have a boy just like you!" you know what? Some curses aren't so bad!)
and Jessalyn (My daughter, the youngest. She melts my heart with her smiles and demands for hugs and "Tickle me!" She is so girly and I so absolutely love that! She loves dresses and clothes and makeup and shoes and all those things the really girly girls love. I am so happy that my boy is a real boy and my girl is a real girl and not the other way around! Jessa a real heart string player and she can make me lose my temper just as quickly as she can wrap me around her finger. When she is older I will have to appologize to her because even though I love her being a "real girl" I don't know a thing about them. I was the youngest of three boys! What do I know about young girls???)

Thats who we are and this is what we are doing: I intend to start at least 2 blogs though there may well be many before I'm done we will have to see. This first is just as it appears, a chance to post things that are going on in our lives. This way all those people that are so important to us and who have chosen to accept us and have placed us as having some importance in their lives can have a way to keep up with whats going on with us. I so wish we had the ability to contact and converse with all of you personally every day but I do know that YOU know how difficult that is. Please accept this effort on our part as a token or better yet a hope that we will be able to visit in person and give you the personal attention you do so richly deserve.

This hopefully will be the page or blog to turn to for updates on our personal lives. Well, to a point, I mean this is pretty public so we aren't going to get toooooo personal ya know? I expect that my Wife and better half Deanna will actually be making most of the entries on this page and I can't wait to find out what I've been up to!

The second blog I would like to set up will have the teachings from the Bible that I have given in our little church in our little town. I would eventually like to set up a discussion. There really is little that I enjoy more than true Christians discussing the wonders of our Lord Jesus. The Word of God is so full and so rewarding to delve into. While we see through a glass darkly I know that we will see differently too. I hope to learn from you. I have yet to figure out the details because I don't want to put up any "stumbling blocks" either. I will keep you posted. After all, I still have to figure out how!
